Everything was first class
It was a visit which is one of those pipe dream events. You would like to go but you never think you'll achieve it but after recent knee surgery I thought just do it and I've done it. Tracy and myself were REALLY impressed with the lodge you have there and being upgraded was a real privilege. Everything was first class, the staff, food, room and all the exhibits on display were brilliant. I live not too far from John Chard's grave so I've always had an interest in that period triggered by the film.

I want to thank Fugitives Drift personally
to Douglas, Micko and all of your fabulous team, thanks for the wonderful three days our party spent with you at Fugitives drift. In two and a half weeks travelling through the Cape and Natal, our time with you was without any doubt the jewel in the crown.

It’s truly difficult to find adequate words that express my sincere gratitude
to you and to the wonderful team that you have managed to build around you over the years. Suffice it to say that our stay with you was a HUGE success from beginning to end and I have simply been basking in your reflected glory ever since! Thank you, THANK YOU more than I can possibly say for making us all feel so incredibly welcome and so very much at home

Rorkes Drift
Where History Comes Alive
Fugitives’ Drift, set in a 5000 acre game reserve with 22km of river frontage, is a place where the Anglo-Zulu War of 1879 is brought back to life. This private game reserve, a registered Natural Heritage Site, overlooks the famous battle sites of Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift. The Lodge and Guest House face roughly north-east and have commanding views of the peak of Isandlwana and of the rough country the fugitives from the battle had to traverse in order to get back across the Buffalo River into Natal.
